Ideas. He changed the world when he began to start organizations to stop segregation and he stared to set up clinics in Africa and teaching people to fabricate so they get jobs.
Stephen Batu Biko was born in King Willams town in on Dec, 18, 1946 to Mr & Mrs Mzimgayi Biko his father was a respectable government clerk and important social figure in his community. His secondary schooling was all done at the Marianhill Secondary School in Kwazulu. He entered the Medical School of the University of Natal(Black Section) in 1966. This is his greatest strives in activism began to take place. He gave up his comfortable life style in order to break the boundaries color race and segregation a leader who was born for his people .He and his colleagues founded the South African Students' Organization (SASO) in 1968. He was elected the first President of the organization at its inaugural congress held at Turfloop in 1969. This organization was born of due to the frustration of the Non-white community. Due to this frustration
Biko helped found the Black Peoples Convention (BPC) working on social upliftment projects. It roughly 60 -70 different black consciousness groups and associations. That played a big part in fighting the apartheid system. He protested in a non-violent way to end separation of classes and promoted self-reliance. He established health clinics in the country, so rural blacks could have healthcare. Biko also set up programs offering literacy classes and developing useful skills such as fabricating clothing. After making such an impact in Africa the government deemed him a very powerful oponent. During the time of his Influents he taken to government custody and was not permitted out of his home town or allowed to submit any of his teachings to any press or to give public addresses. Then a short time after it was discovered that he died due to a brutal police beating.
He is remembered because if he didn’t break those boundaries that he broke Africa could still have segregation. The world would be worse because the people’s voices would not be heard. He lighted the fire to start all these changes. We can learn a lot though him he took a lot of action to see the change he wanted to make in the world.
